Circular trail to the Silkebuche monument - Hike through Eichheide with the option of extending it to Lake Pinnowseen. The hike finishes at the majestic Silkebuche beech tree, which is about 300 years old with a trunk circumference of 6.5 metres, making it the biggest beech tree in Brandenburg.

Current news Silkebuche: In the last week of August 2021 the tree suddenly broke apart. Hiking to the Silkebuche is still possible. The trees area is blocked for your safety.

Start / finish: Parking area at the entrance to Eichhorst in the direction of Groß Schönebeck

Course: form the parking area in Eichhorst through Eichheide to Silkebuche and back

Trail conditions/surface: unspoilt forest paths, gentle inclines, also suitable for bicycle tours

How to get there:

Car: A11 to the Finowfurt exit, then continue on in the direction of Zerpenschleuse, after the bridge turn right to Eichhorst
