Basdorf railway station is a good starting point for hikes and explorations around Briese and Lake Liepnitzsee. It is about 26 kilometres from the centre of Berlin, about 40 minutes by train. Railway fans will enjoy the Heidekrautbahnmuseum railway museum. Today modern trains run on this leisure route.
