In Leibsch, it is worth stopping at the historic needle weir, which is located right next to the modern weir system. The trail then continues along meadows and the Dahme flood canal into the Dahme area. After passing the eastern side of Lake Köthen and the town of Köthen, the route runs in a wide arc through the Köthen Heath. Here, six dreamy lakes are nestled in a vast forest area. A detour to the observation tower on the 144-metre-high Wehlaberg is definitely worthwhile. The climb is rewarded with an impressive panoramic view of the endless forests. From the western side of Lake Köthen, the familiar Dahme flood channel accompanies hikers to the cascade weir in Märkisch Buchholz. From there, the last section continues through quiet forests to Halbe.
