Asparagus has been grown since 1960 in Preschen, a little town between Forst (Lausitz) and Döbern.

The “Spargelbetrieb Kaltschmidt” was created as a subsidiary from the “Agrar- & Schäfereibetrieb” in 1998. The farm offers high-quality asparagus – known as the “vegetable of emperors” – freshly harvested each day from the middle of April until June 24 (St. John’s day). The white asparagus, like green asparagus, is prepared and sorted in the production hall on site immediately after cutting.

Our long-standing regular customers include famous restaurants and hotels in Brandenburg from Cottbus right down to Zittau in the beautiful Oberlausitz region. In addition, during the asparagus season, the team visits nearby markets with a number of sales trolleys and market stands.
