The “Alte Dorfschule Cultural and Community Centre” in Schulstrasse is the focal point of Welzow’s cultural and leisure activities and an example of a successful concept for the subsequent use of a former school building. The building, built in 1907, was used as a school building until 1993 and in 1999 was renovated as a listed building.

Today the old village school houses the town’s youth and leisure club, the municipal library, the ’Golden Autumn’ senior citizens’ association including club rooms, and the music school. Language and creative courses are also held here, and it is also a hostel with 19 beds in 4 rooms.

Our heart is the newly reconstructed multi-purpose hall, which is available for various events. It accommodates up to 120 people. Our 4,000 square metre outdoor area also offers space and room to relax.
