The 1,300 hectares big lake Senftenberger See is the “mother” of the lakes of the Lusatian Lake District and located at the heart of the navigable network of this evolving region. A number of bathing areas with a total length of seven kilometres are scattered along the lakeshore.

The 600 metres wide bathing area in Buchwalde is especially popular among surfers. Campers will also find a quiet spot with direct views of the lake. Fee-based parking, a playground, a snack bar, a restaurant and bathroom facilities are all provided on site. There are designated textile, textile-free and surfers’ areas in Buchwalde. Those who love active recreation will enjoy the beach volleyball court and the waterslide.
