Bad Wilsnack with the imposing Wunderblutkirche is not only a popular pilgrimage destination, but also a well-known thermal brine and mud spa. Shortly after you have passed the pilgrim cross, the path leads through a forest, the Birkengrund. An idyllic resting place with a view of the Karthane river crosses your path behind the forester's house. It is not far now to the castle. The castle, built in the 12th century, is enthroned in the middle of the small village of Plattenburg. The complex is surrounded by ramparts and double moats and once served the Bishops of Havelberg as a summer residence. On the way back you are on an old mail route. All that remains from this time is the striking old post column in the middle of the path.
