Seelow, the district town of the Märkisch Oderland district, has a chequered history. The largest and most costly battle of the Second World War on German soil took place here - the memorial on the Seelow Heights tells the story. Today, Seelow is a pretty little town. The beautifully restored neoclassical ‘Alte Dampfbäckerei’ cultural centre is a meeting place for art and culture. Nature lovers also get their money's worth - nature and the countryside invite you to explore and relax.
