In Eisenhüttenstadt, you can experience two worlds in one city: on the one hand, the socialist model town, which was listed as a historical monument 40 years after it was built, and on the other, the historic Fürstenberg (1255) with its narrow streets, the old fishing neighbourhood and the 14th century Gothic parish church. Eisenhüttenstadt is the largest contiguous monument in Germany and well worth a visit.
