Between 1816 and 1826, on the initiative of the landowner Arnim in Criewen, the old village was torn down and rebuilt further to the east. This created space for his landscape park to be built according to plans by the landscape architect Peter Joseph Lenné. The reconstructed castle and village church are in the centre of the park.

The nine-hectare park is well maintained and invites visitors to enjoy a stroll with its rare trees, such as the bald cypress, large-leaved linden and plane tree.
